Temple dedicated to Vishnu and featuring a hall of 100 pillars, each different with representations of the god's various avatars
Dedicated to the god Vishnu who is worshipped here as Devarajaswamy, this temple, which has a hall of one hundred pillars, all different, was built by the Vijayanagar kings and testifies to the skill of their artists. Among the most beautiful pieces are the figures of Vishnu and his wife astride a swan. The various avatars of Vishnu are also represented. The sanctuary of the temple is forbidden to non-Hindus.
