PONDICHERRY MUSEUM
Housed in an villa, this museum boasts an eclectic collection of bronze statues from the Chola period.
Housed in an eighteenth-century villa that once belonged to a wealthy French merchant, the museum's eclectic collection includes a numismatic section, bronze statues from the Chola period, and remains of the Arikamedu harbor dating from 200 B.C. On the first floor, there is a collection of French furniture and objects, which allow one to imagine the Pondicherry interiors of the Dupleix period. The whole is presented in a rather sad way and the whole lacks a bit of lighting. Quick visit.
