DHANDAYUTHAPANI SWAMY TEMPLE
Temple in the town of Palani, dedicated to the god Murugan, with a beautiful view of the plains and scattered rocky outcrops from the summit
On the bus ride from Kodaikanal to Palani, there's a fine view of the plains and scattered rock outcrops. Situated at the top of a hill, the temple in the town of Palani, originally built by the Chera, is one of the six abodes of the god Murugan. An electric gondola takes worshippers to the top, but you'll have to queue for a while to get there! Some 200,000 pilgrims gather here for the Pusam Thai festival in January.
