KODAIKANAL LAKE
24 ha lake to visit, bypassed by a 5 km road, a strategic point of Kodai created in 1863 and supplied with fish
This 24 hectare lake is the strategic point of Kodai. It was created in 1863 by Sir Vere Hentry Livinge (1819-1885), who built a dam to form a lake that he supplied with fish. He brought the first boat from Tuticorin. In 1890, a yacht club was opened here and in 1910 a new boathouse was built. Tourists can use the boating facilities. There are also pony rides around the lake and children's bicycles for rent. You can go horseback riding near the lake or in the forest.
