It is the best preserved colonial house in Santiago. It was built in 1769 by Joseph de la Vega, a Portuguese, and restored in 2012 after the earthquake in 2010. His name comes from the red color of his stone. Today, it is home to a very modern museum that traces the steps in Santiago's history.
