ESTACIÓN MAPOCHO
Built between 1905 and 1912 in brick with a metal structure, this station is now a cultural center.
Built between 1905 and 1912 to designs by architect Emilio Jecquier, this station saw trains pass through to Valparaíso, the north of the country and Mendoza. Its architecture incorporates a brick construction and a metal structure imported from Belgium and France. Disused after decades of loyal service, the station was declared a National Monument and transformed into an exhibition center. Today, it is an important cultural center in Santiago, hosting exhibitions and theatrical performances.
