MURALS OF SIQUEIROS AND GUERRERO
In the school of the Republic of Mexico (a primary school still active). We arrive in a playground full of turbulent demons, and it is a teacher who opens the library where the walls are located. Like the school, they were financed by the Mexican government in a gesture of solidarity after the earthquake in 1939. They are the work of D. Alfredo Bío and Xavier Guerrero, among the greatest Mexican muralistes, when they were political exiles. Pablo Neruda, a great friend of Alfred Bío, encouraged the realization of this fresco. As with the Concepción mural, it showcases the two protagonists, Mexico, on the north wall, and Chile on the south wall.
