LOTA PARK
A park housing a collection of shimmering trees and plants, sculptures, jars and other ornamental pieces.
Take a walk in the Lota Park, which houses a superb collection of trees and shimmering plants, reminiscent of the exuberant gardens of Madeira. Located on a peninsula and designed by an English landscape artist (Bartelet), between 1862 and 1872, this park offers a superb view of the bay of Lota. It is decorated with sculptures, jars and other ornamental pieces brought from Europe by Isidora Goyenechea Cousiño. The palace that stood in the park, which was never really a residence, was destroyed by the earthquake of 1960.
