LAGO LLEU
The lake at Contulmo, inhabited by Mapuche communities, is totally isolated and nature and silence are its watchwords.
Less touristy than Lago Lanalhue, Lago Lleu Lleu plunges you into a totally isolated setting. Here, nature and silence are the watchwords, and even motorboats are not allowed! Considered the purest lake in South America, it is also inhabited by Mapuche communities who are gradually opening their doors to tourists. Stay with them if you can. You can pitch your tent in one of the lakeside campsites or continue on to the laguna de Butaco, another of the area's attractions.
