PARQUE NACIONAL DE CHILOE
A park with many surprising landscapes to discover thanks to the various trails on site.
The park offers a range of rather surprising landscapes, from the lush forest to the beach through hills and small lagoons. Here is a list of trails that you can choose to take within the park. Beware, before you commit yourself blindly, it is better to do your shopping in the village of Cucao.
From the Anay sector (towards Cucaco): El Tepual (700 m only), to get to know a tepú forest; Dunas de Cucao (2 km); Playa Cucao (1.5 km); Chanquín-Rancho Grande (12 km); Chanquín-Cole Cole (20 km, count about 5 hours, a rustic refuge at low cost and accessible with kitchen and camping available. Many hikers choose to stop beforehand in Huentemó. This is a rustic refuge, a little more expensive, with kitchen, passing through the Huelde lagoon to the beach; Río Cole-Río Anay (6 km, rustic refuge), which continues the previous circuit through a forest of arayanes.
From the Abtao sector (north of the Anay zone), it is possible to walk to San Pedro and back to the coast, just north of Castro; count 18 km of walking.
From the Chepu sector: Chepu-Río Lar (14 km), starting from Puerto Anguay, further north (a small boat is used to reach the beginning of the trek), we reach the Río Liar refuge to finish in Metalqui (sendero de Chile de Mar Brava in Metalqui).
The refuges are located along the hiking trails: Río Anay, Cole Cole, Río Liar, Río Abtao.
