MUSEO ANTROPOLÓGICO MARTIN GUSINDE
Museum displaying moving objects and photos relating to native culture, witnesses to a bygone era.
This interactive museum, renovated in 2023, exhibits a series of objects and photos relating to indigenous culture. It bears the name of an Austrian anthropologist who worked with the Yamanas, Kawésqar and Selk'nam, three tribes living in Tierra del Fuego between 1918 and 1924. He was one of the few Westerners to have been introduced to the initiation rites of these now extinct peoples. The photographs are sublime and moving, bearing witness to a bygone era.
