CALETA WULAIA
This beautiful bay, which is a true historical monument, now boasts an informative museum on the region's indigenous people
Beautiful bay located west of Navarino Island, south of the Murray Channel. A true historical monument, it was here that the first English missionaries encountered the Yaghans. It was also here, in 1830, that Charles Darwin and Commander Fitz Roy landed and took 4 natives to England, including the famous 14-year-old Jemmy Button. Today, you can visit a highly instructive museum on the first peoples of this southern region, and stroll to a viewpoint along a well-defined path.
