OBSERVATORIO CRUZ DEL SUR
Combarbalá is a small town in the south of Ovalle, 188 km from La Serena. Access via the D -55 from the north, or D -71 if you arrive from the south. The observatory is in the south of the city, just a few kilometers away, taking the non-bitumen D -765 which runs in the desert (careful not to miss the sign sign on the right to go to the observatory!). The telescopes used for observations have a good diameter, so see in the best conditions the classic objects of the southern sky: Omega du Centaure, Clouds of Magellan, Carène's nebula, star clusters, jewelry box, etc. Evenings are not necessarily scheduled regularly, it is imperative to inquire to confirm their dates and dates of appointment.
