METEOROLOGICAL MUSEUM
Museum housed in a dome 5 minutes from Caracoles, with a private collection of 3,200 meteorite fragments.
This new kind of museum opened in San Pedro in 2013. Located in a dome 5 minutes from Caracoles, it is the project of two brothers, Rodrigo and Edmundo Martínez - one a marine biologist, the other a geologist. Here they exhibit their private collection of 3,200 meteorite fragments that they have accumulated over three decades of research in the desert. You can admire all sorts of space objects and many explanations about the solar system. You can touch some of the meteorites and audio guides in French are available.
