MUSEO SITIO COLON
An informative museum featuring a collection of human mummies, animal skins and feathers adorning corpses.
At the foot of the Morro d'Arica, this museum space was inaugurated in 2010. The main attraction of this site is the collection of human mummies it houses: 32 mummified human remains are displayed here behind glass walls. They were discovered (along with some fifty others) in 2004 during excavations undertaken for the construction of a hotel on the site of the current museum. In addition to mummification strips, animal skins and feathers adorn the corpses. An instructive stop!
