A surprising museum in Arica, designed by Nicolás Hrepic Gutunic, featuring an impressive collection of shells.
Opened in October 2006, this surprising museum is the work of Nicolás Hrepic Gutunic who has gathered an impressive collection of shells over 45 years. He exhibits here his private collection of seashells, which come from long walks or from purchases from specialists. Today, the collection includes more than 1,750 species of shells and is considered the largest collection in Latin America. Nicolas Hrepic passed away at the end of 2019, leaving behind him a valuable contribution to the natural heritage of the country... and the world.
