AHU TEPEU
Site north of Hanga Roa, home to remarkable Moai statues and an ancient village with clearly visible ruins.
North of Hanga Roa, the site ofahu Tepeu can be admired, where the finishing and assembly of the large stones are, once again, remarkable. In addition to the overturned Moai statues, the site also houses an ancient village with clearly visible ruins. The remains of several hare paenga or houseboats can be seen. This is where the island's largest house is located, measuring 43 metres in length. On the northern summit of the Pascuan island triangle are two other sites, those of Maitaki Te Moa and Vai Mata.
