In Port-au-Prince, and especially in the districts of Delmas, Pacot, Turgeau, Bas-la-ville, and Champ de Mars, private vehicles, of a sedan type, often are veritable guimards, as collective taxis. They are recognizable to the cloth or red scarf attached to their interior mirror. You stop them and tell them where you want to go. If the race suits them, you go. If customers are already sitting, the driver will put them in the order of their support. If you're in a hurry, don't go into a car where three or four people have already taken place. The amount of the race is calculated in number of "sections" crossed. This makes the fare quite mysterious for the tourist who does not know the map of sections! In this case, it is better to discuss the price in advance. In any case, the price is 25 GD per section.
