HOTEL OLOFFSON
It is not as well equipped as the Plaza. Certainly, in case of rain, the roof is limited. Of course, painting crumbles here and there, but it is a hotel of bohemians, with an unparalleled surprise. Built in the late nineteenth century, the Oloffson is unique. Immortalized by Graham Greene, he received all the greatest personalities in the island (Mick Jagger, Van Damme, Bill Clinton…). The splendid building was first a hospital, before becoming the only luxury hotel in Port-au-Prince in the 1950 s. Today it remains the unmissable address in the city, the one that fascinates the visitor. The walls are a true anthem to Haitian art whose architecture offers a journey over time. So you can't be in the capital without spending at least once by this mythical place. Room amenities are not impeccable, but they remain comfortable and functional. Moreover, they all have some magic. The staff used to international clients are efficient and friendly. The menu is simple, but the service is fast and the food is pretty good. Cheap laundry service is available and a nice small store allows you to shop at the last minute. Finally every Thursday the hotel group, RAM, set fire to the scene.
