This colonial mill still works thanks to the care of Mr. Paultre, his owner for over forty years.
Water, which flows along a mini-aqueduct, activates a metal wheel that replaced the original wooden wheel. This wheel destroys the cane whose juice is processed into molasses in the neighbouring vats, some of which date from the colony. Mr. Paultre then sells the molasses to the guildiviers who make it tafia.
