AUBERGE DU PICOLET
Separated from the ocean only by the road, the Picolet restaurant (named Les Amandiers), whose various spaces of the elegant service room are slowly caressed by the spray of the ocean, is certainly one of the best options in town. It is Dominine's sister, Dominique's sister, who runs the shop with know-how and passion, taking care to adapt the menu to the products of the moment, always fresh and local. There is an excellent Haitian Creole cuisine of course - beef filets, grilled fish and seafood - but also more international specialties - pasta preparations are regularly reinvented - and some light plates: tapas (shrimp tempuras, acras), salads, soups and paninis (steak & cheddar is unanimous!). In dessert, you will find tropical fruits with rum and home sorbets, accompanied by a well-woven espresso or Krèm coffee. And to conclude on a digestive that one will pick up among the ten Haitian references that the bar is home to, also rich in half a dozen French wines served by the glass. It's a feast.
