ROOTSTREE FORTRESS SITE - NATIONAL HISTORIC PARK
It was in 1972 that the fortified site of Des, located in the south extension of the chain of Cap-à-l'Bishop, was released from the lush vegetation that covered it. The natural plateau here formed four redoubts designed to monitor and defend the southern flank of the Citadel, including a possible return of the French. If the redoubts are reasonably well conserved, the residential complex is a little less and remains difficult to access because of the disappearance of the drawbridge bridges that permit access.
