Unlike the government of Solomon, he took the lead in a revolutionary army and landed in 1883 in Miragoâne with Haitian troops from Cuba and Jamaica and composed mostly of the Liberal party exiles. After more than 6 months of fighting, he was killed in Miragôane, where he was buried, and his troops capitulate.
