NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL
Inaugurated at the end of 1949, it was originally called Notre-Dame du Congo Cathedral. Mobutu renamed it Our Lady of Lingwala. It is an imposing building of baked bricks inspired by the architectural model of the 1930s. The interior is also made of brick, with an original tiled floor, a very simple choir and a fresco representing Christ with the Lingala inscription "Yesu asekwi Aleluya". The great liturgies are celebrated here. It is worth the trip for those who wish to witness beautiful moments of devotion and song.
