Discovered in 1915 by the Belgian colonel Tordeur, these caves are located 5 kilometers southeast of the city in the village of Mbamba-Ntoto. Only three of the caves have been developed to protect a specimen that is unique in the world: the Caecobarbus geertsi. This eyeless fish is a zoological rarity for the scientific world. Living exclusively in the dark, it is white, with no pigmentation. It measures around ten centimetres and can live up to fifteen years. It's easy to find.
