SOCIÉTÉ NATIONALE DES CHEMINS DE FER DU CONGO (SNCC)
Kolwezi station has kept all its colonial charm, with the beautiful steam locomotive in front. The current rail network is a long way from the great era of the Katangese railway. Nevertheless, there is a desire to revitalize rail. The Governor also helped to reopen the Kolwezi-Dilolo line in 2017. With 1 to 2 trains per month, with around 15 stops along the way, it mainly loads barges and goods (outward journey: 2 days - return journey: 5 days). Agreements have also been signed with neighbouring Angola for the transport of minerals. And soon for travellers, it seems... The NCCS is in any case well aware of its role to play in a redevelopment of tourism in the province, provided it has its own locomotives (which for the moment come from L'shi in droves).
