The Cercle Gécamines, also known as the Cercle de la Manika, was a social gathering place in the not-too-distant past, where balls and recitals were held... It was also a place for sporting activities and social relaxation. After years of purgatory, it's back in the spotlight. The former Olympic swimming pool is back in operation. And its old-fashioned charm is still very much in evidence. The large Manika Hall, with its rows of vintage seats, is operational but should also be refreshed. It hosts the sessions of the Provincial Assembly, as well as occasional shows (screenings, concerts...). The tennis courts have already been refurbished by the Fit & Food sports center next door.
