On the same site as the CRPL in Lwiro, a short distance from the Kahuzi-Biega National Park, there is this research center for botany, geophysics, medical nutrition and environment. The place is simply amazing, a kind of Mexican hacienda with ponds, built in 1953 and still in relatively good condition. The magnificent period library, all in exotic wood and marquetry, contains treasures among old scientific manuals.
