The Shyblan (pronounced siblan) is the most exclusive of these nightlife spots and the most well-established before the opening of Nefertiti, which poses stiff competition with its entrance fee of CFAF 2,000 on weekends. It is a venue that used to cater very much to VIPs, facilitating social climbing by night, but the transition from a bar to a more upscale establishment does not always translate into increased patronage.
