Congo's independence is celebrated with great pomp in Brazzaville. On the programme: a parade of soldiers... and sappers!
The Republic of Congo has celebrated the anniversary of its independence with great pomp and ceremony every August 15 since 1960. In 2020, the country celebrated 60 years of independence, against a backdrop of Covid. This important day is marked by a parade of military personnel... and sappers, on the Boulevard des Armées in Brazzaville. In turn, the municipalities designated under the "Accelerated Municipalisation" programme are in charge of organising these festivities. It's an opportunity to check out what's been achieved on the ground or on screen.
