The Sahm workshops, created by artist Bill Kouelany, are a cultural arts platform that aims to promote creation and contemporary art in the Congo and throughout Africa. The workshops offer residencies, workshops, and exhibitions and organise the Rencontre Internationale de l'Art Contemporain (RIAC) in September. Ms. Kouelany's commitment and ambition to promote the creativity of the new generation are as rare as they are ambitious, in a continent where artistic professions are not always seen in a very positive light.
