Cave dating from 5000 BC near Kimbédi, with preserved fragments and tools, guide available to take you there
The cave is located near the village of Kimbédi on the national road and railroad between Mindouli and Loutété, on the banks of the Niari River, which marks the border between the departments of Pool and Bouenza. You can hire a guide in the village who will lead you on a one-kilometre trail to the cave. Numerous fragments and tools have been found in this cave dating back to 5000 BC, which corresponds to the Tshitolian era. More recently, the cave has been used as a burial ground by forest peoples.
