A secular baobab with an imposing size and hollow trunk, with numerous messages engraved on its bark tracing its history
Just 8 km from the town centre, before the toll booth on the road to Pointe-Noire, stands a huge, venerable baobab tree. The baobab, nicknamed Brazza's tree, is said to have protected the exhausted explorer from a nap inside its trunk in 1887. This secular baobab, with its imposing size and hollow trunk, has long attracted the interest of mankind, as evidenced by the many messages, some of them very old, engraved on its bark. It's worth stopping off to learn more about the history of this singular tree.
