The perfect place to stay downtown at an affordable price. Formerly the home of the Swedish Cooperation Center, hence the name Sueco, it is now run by the Evangelical Church of Congo. Families on their way to a wedding, visiting military personnel, and young people from all over the world on humanitarian missions rub shoulders here, so the centre welcomes all travellers. Rooms are rudimentary, but relatively clean: whenever possible, you should opt for those with private sanitary facilities and air-conditioning. Reservations are essential, as the hostel is often fully booked.
