Well-preserved Pointe-Noire train station, dating from the 1930s and similar to the Gare de Deauville, with wooden ticket offices to admire.
Even if you're not planning to take the train, the Pointe-Noire station is a must-see. A legacy of the 1930s, it was inspired by Deauville station, for those familiar with Normandy. Remarkably, its architect is simply the same, a certain Mr Jean Philippot. The station has been well preserved over the years by the Compagnie des Chemins de Fer (railway company), although it could do with a good deal of refurbishment. However, it's worth taking a look at both the brown and beige exterior and the interior, with its wooden counters.
