Museum financed by Total E&P Congo focusing on local culture, the history of the Loango Kingdom, and slavery.

Formerly located in the palace of the Kingdom of Loango (Ma-Loango), residence of the last king Moe Poaty III, the museum has been transferred to new buildings, the construction of which was financed by Total E&P Congo. The guided tour is divided into two parts. One part focuses on local culture through objects (loincloths, furniture and kitchen utensils, weapons, basketry, musical instruments, etc.), while the other looks back at the kingdom's history and the slave trade through photos and explanatory panels. An instructive stopover.

An authentic museum with panels that conservative of the museum setup and vacuum-cleans while being able to explain the first part dedicated to milking négrière. Then a second part devoted to the stories myths and Congolese culture with representative objects, photos, statues, etc., all told in a way passionate and amusing by conservative, in pure oral tradition.
A must-see for those who are interested in the history of the region. In addition to the ethnographic look (masks, sculptures, everyday objects, documents of the colonial era...)an interesting exhibition on slavery (reclaimed panels of Nantes) gives a lighting on the Kingdom of Loango from the time of its splendour and sinister traffic of human beings.
