HIGH LEVEL RAILWAY BRIDGE
The High Level Railway Bridge, built between 1907 and 1909, is the main landmark in the City of Lethbridge.
The City of Lethbridge's main landmark is a railway bridge, the highest (96 metres) and longest (1.5 kilometres) in North America: the Lethbridge High Level Railway Bridge or Lethbridge Viaduct, built between 1907 and 1909. The cost of its construction was estimated at C$1,334,525. In the past, the city had been growing due to the coal economy in the region, so the construction of this viaduct was considered as a means of facilitating access.
