DEAUVILLE BEACH
A beach stretching for two kilometres of fine sand, lined with colourful parasols and Art Deco cabins.
Deauville isn’t just about the boards... Right next to them, there’s the beach and its 450 mythical, colorful parasols. Probably the most photographed parasol in the world! With its two kilometers of fine sand, Deauville beach, immortalized by Claude Lelouch in the film Un homme et une femme, offers plenty of space for holidaymakers to find a quiet spot to set up their towel, fly a kite or go for a run! It’s also the ideal place to declare your love or take a horse ride. With its Art Deco cabins (450 in total!), whose lices are inscribed with the names of actors and directors invited to the American Film Festival, a kids’ club, a leisure park, mini-golf, tennis courts, an Olympic-size swimming pool, a sailing school and numerous shops, there really is something for every taste, every age and every weather!
The beach is cleaned every morning during the summer season. Early in the morning is also the best time to admire the racehorses training on the water’s edge.
What better way for your dog to let off steam than on miles of beach? In Deauville, there’s a real canine parade all year round. However, from May1 to September 30, dogs are only allowed on the beach before 10am and after 7pm.
Practicalities: Cabins and umbrellas can be rented from the Etablissement des Bains de Mer.
