LAKE MINNEWANKA
A magnificent lake where you can discover deer and other wild animals on a ten-kilometer circuit.
A magnificent lake where deer and other wild animals regularly refresh themselves. In Amerindian, " minnewanka " means "water of the spirits". The "Minnewanka Loop" (signposted) takes you on a ten-kilometre circuit, first passing through Lake Minnewanka, then on to the much smaller, but well worth the detour, Two Jack and Johnson lakes. Lake Johnson, in particular, has an unforgettable color. In winter, the shores of the lake are one of the most beautiful places in Banff to watch the Northern Lights.

Water is of a pretty blue, a small pontoon allows the departure of the boats and many trails allow you to discover the lake from the heights.
The passage was fast returning from the discovery of Canyon Johnston but we appreciated this stop.
Very photogenic, it also serves as a backdrop to the Asian newlyweds who want to immortalise happiness in an exceptional environment.
Il y a des chèvres de montagne qui longent la route, c'est sympa !
