SHOVEL PASS LODGE
Renovated former mountain ecolodge in Jasper National Park, accessible by trails either on foot or on horseback.
This mountain lodge dates back to 1921. It's the oldest ecolodge in the park. Of course, since its creation, it has changed a lot, and was renovated in the 1990s by its owners, including Lynda who is French-speaking. It can accommodate up to 18 people and consists of seven cabins and a main chalet where to eat (home kitchen). Beware, located in the backcountry, the refuge is only accessible by trails for 22 km, either on foot or on horseback. The package includes the transport of luggage with horses to the refuge.
