MEDICINE LAKE
Lake on the Maligne Lake Road which empties once a year: an area allows to photograph the contrasts of the lake during the day.
On the Maligne Lake Road, Medicine Lake, located 27 km from Jasper, remains an enigma: it empties its contents once a year. In fact, the water rises after the snow melts and then gradually infiltrates the limestone rock. Thus, the lake is almost empty, its waters having been transferred to the nearby Maligne River. This underground stream may well be the largest in the world. A favourite area to watch out for wildlife on the shores of the lake, and to photograph the different contrasts of the lake depending on the time of day.
