Opened in 1913, the Royal Theatre offers operas and recitals by Victoria's Philharmonic and Symphony orchestras for a journey back in time. The McPherson Playhouse (nicknamed The Mac) is more theatre-oriented. The acoustics of the halls are spectacular and the decor is reminiscent of the style of the time. Numerous performances take place in this place such as ballets, classical music and even contemporary dance.
