THUNDERBIRD PARK
Park that completes its visit by going to admire the totems of the Gitxsan, Haida and Kwakwaka'wakw nations in Victoria.
Adjacent to the Royal British Columbia Museum, the park completes its visit by going to admire the totem poles of the Gitxsan, Haida and Kwakwaka'wakw nations and the Mungo Martin House (long house built in 1953). The original totem poles are in the museum and these beautiful replicas have replaced them since 1990.
You can also see Helmcken House, built in 1852 by Victoria's first doctor who worked for the Hudson's Bay Company, and the small cabin at St. Ann's Schoolhouse, where the Sisters of St. Anne who came from Quebec in 1858 taught classes.
