GALLOPING GOOSE TRAIL
A trail through quiet wooded parkland, an old railroad route that connected Sidney to Victoria and Victoria to Sooke.
This 60-kilometre trail in the middle of a quiet 151-hectare wooded park is actually a 100-kilometre old railroad road that once connected Sidney to Victoria and then Victoria to Sooke, which has now been transformed into a recreational road. It is permitted for jogging, cycling, rollerblading or horseback riding as long as the vehicle is not motorized. It is also a recognized section of the Trans-Canada Trail that runs across the country. It runs along the coast of Bazan Bay and Cordova Bay, offering incredible scenery.
