Since 1978, the local Gulf Islands Water Taxi Company has operated on the island to transport goods and people from one point to another. The water cabs are also used to transport approximately 100 students each school day from the Gulf Islands to Salt Spring Island. An original and efficient way to get around. A shuttle boat runs daily between Salt Spring, Galiano, Mayne and Pender Islands, once in the early morning and once in the late afternoon. It is possible to bring your bike on board for cyclists.
