VANCOUVER PRIDE PARADE
Vancouver celebrates, better than anywhere else in Western Canada, the LGBTQ2 community through its parades and festivities.
Since 1973, the LGBTQ2 community has been celebrating its rainbow colours throughout the city. The highlight of a week of festivities in the Davie Street neighbourhood, the epicentre of the city's gay community, is the parade, reputed to be the largest in Western Canada, organized by Vancouver Pride and which follows a route from Thurlow Street to Robson to land on Beach Avenue. Free dances and concerts are held throughout the city, including the Beach Festival on the beach, the focal point of the parade.
