HOLY ROSARY CATHEDRAL
Romanesque cathedral with a superb rose window, the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vancouver.
The Romanesque Cathedral of the Holy Rosary is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vancouver, where Bishop Raymond Roussin sits. Architects T. E. Julian and H. J. Williams designed a classic cruciform structure. Construction under the responsibility of R. P. Forshaw and Company took only 491 days. The first mass was celebrated there in December 1900. Be sure to admire the beautiful rose window in the centre of the main façade, or take a photograph of its silhouette reflected in the neighbouring glass buildings.
