DOMINION BUILDING
A striking hotel and retail building on the edge of Vancouver's Gastown neighborhood.
On the edge of the Gastown district, the first high-rise building in Vancouver remained the largest until 1911 and features Second Empire architecture. Its configuration is reminiscent of the Flatiron Building in New York City. Today, the Dominion Building houses a hotel and some shops. Legend has it that the Dominion is haunted by the architect who designed it. He died falling down during the construction of the staircase. Can we make a connection with the fact that the building has thirteen floors?
