ROEDDE HOUSE MUSEUM
Visit a former bookbinder's house, with the atmosphere of a late 19th century Victorian family's life.
Built in 1893, this wooden house follows the lines of the architect Rattenbury, known for the legislative building and the Empress Hotel in Victoria. Gustav and Matilda Roedde, Vancouver's first bookbinders, moved there in 1888. Restored and furnished, a visit to this former residence allows you to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the life of a Victorian family at the end of the century. Since the house was classified as a Canadian Heritage Site, it has been managed by an association dedicated to its restoration and maintenance. Allow 45 minutes for the visit.
