VANIER PARK
A pleasant park with a marina, a pedestrian promenade, museums and a beautiful view of downtown Vancouver.
The Vanier Municipal Park, created in 1967, was once a major Squamish Nation Indian site, then a Royal Canadian Air Force air base. This large, lush green area, on the edge of English Bay, is now a pleasant park with a beautiful view of downtown Vancouver. It has a marina, a pedestrian walkway leading to Kitsilano Beach, and three major museums: the Museum of Vancouver, the Vancouver Maritime Museum and the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre.
